For kids, ages 4-12, the Children’s Learning Center (CLC) ski and snowboard instructors are the best! They are kid-friendly and enthusiastic about teaching kids! Our instructors love winter and look forward to sharing their skiing and snowboarding skills with your child. More than just a lesson, our instructors will introduce young skiers and riders to a lifetime sport that is healthy, wholesome, and family oriented, while concentrating on safety and having fun.
The Children’s Learning Center is located in the Sunset Lodge on the main floor just as you enter the building from the parking lot. There is a convenient drop off and pick up area in front of Sunset Lodge making it easy for parents to unload the car and then park.
Lessons are offered for all levels, from first-timers, who want to see what the excitement is all about through advanced levels for kids who want to be superstars. Ski class lessons are available for ages 4-12; snowboard class lessons are offered to children ages 6-12. Children are grouped by age and ability level with a small instructor-to-student ratio. The CLC also has its own ski and snowboard rental area for children participating in lessons. This eliminates parents and children having to go to the Rental Center for the child’s skis or snowboard. Parents can purchase tickets, rentals, and lessons for the whole family, not just for the child who will be taking the lesson.
The CLC lessons are offered daily and you can register your child, ages 4-12, for single or multiple lessons each day. CLC class lesson registration begins one hour prior to the start of the lesson time and is closed 15 minutes prior to the lesson time. Register early to avoid missing your preferred lesson time as classes frequently sell out at peak times.
Supervision is provided from the registration time until the end of the lesson. At the end of class, children get to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate while parents review their child’s progress with the instructor. Progress cards are given to parents to help track their child’s improvement throughout the winter.
If your child is registered for two consecutive classes, we offer the convenience of supervision and lunch or snacks between lesson times. Parents can enjoy their recreation time without having to return to the CLC during that time frame.
Class lessons are offered daily through March 18, 2012, weather and terrain permitting.
Private lessons (ages 3+) are based on instructor availability. Advance reservations are recommended.

Helmets
Bristol Mountain places a high priority on providing our guests with a fun and safe mountain experience. While New York State does not currently mandate that helmets are worn, we do feel it is very important that parents, skiers, and snowboarders educate themselves about the benefits and limitations of helmets. Ultimately, the choice of whether or not to wear a helmet is one of personal or parental preference. Helmets are available for sale in Bristol Ski & Sport or for rent in our Main Rental shop and CLC rental area for $10 plus tax.
Visit the National Ski Areas Association web site for additional ski resort safety information at: www.nsaa.org/nsaa/safety/ or visit the Lids On Kids site for information on helmet safety at: www.nsaa.org/nsaa/safety/lidsonkids.asp.
